Dear
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am now serving in Cloud Croft, NM!!! :) My new
companion is named Elder Barlow, and things are going excellent! So a little
bit about him--he is from Nissa, Oregon. He graduated the same year as me, and
he has been out for about 4 1/2 months now! (It was a crazy moment when I
realized that I have now been out for six month!!! Where is my mission going?)
Anywho we are excited to be together!
A little bit about Cloud Croft, so we basically live in the middle of a National Forest! What? Our area covers about 60 miles of the mountain communities surrounding Alamogordo, NM! We drive a 2013 Jeep Compass, and we live in a log cabin!! We cover a little branch out here that has between 30-40 members, and we meet each Sunday in a library! The average age in my ward is about 60 years old. Cloud Croft is basically like a mountain retreat for west Texas and Eastern New Mexico and so most of the members in our ward are retirees! But things are beautiful, Elder Barlow and I jokingly say that we've found Heaven! The average temp is a lot cooler than the rest of NM, so in the summer it rarely breaks 85, and in the winter it averages between 30-40 degrees. There is still snow on the ground, and the other day we saw a herd of elk just sitting on the road! Yep, awesome!
