11.6--Approaching Transfers

Dear Readers (I love how informal that was :) )

So things have been going pretty well recently. :) Transfers are coming up next week, and so we are excited for what life will hold. Elder Allen and I have no idea what's going on. We both feel like we are going to be transferred, but our Ward Mission Leader thinks that this means that we are going to stay. So we will see what happens in the coming week.

Also our work has been stepping up substantially, and we are finding more people who are willing to listen to what we have to say. Actually, on Friday, the Institute Director here gave us a referral who is willing to listen :) Good! Also, the ward has been doing a good job of fellowshipping those who are coming to church :) So our area will hopefully be seeing more success as life continues :).

Other than that, we climbed a giant mountain that is shaped like an elephant.. that was pretty cool! We must've climbed 3000 or 4000 vertical feet over the course of 2miles.... whew... but it was super cool from uptop, and so therefore,it was worth it.

Anywho, that's all for now! have a good week!

11.5--Time Flies.... :)

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Things have been going most well down here in El Paso! :) And this week was pretty much life as per usual! :) (Thank Goodness for breaks)
But we have had several miracles this past week though. First off, one investigator had disappeared off the face of the earth... which was sad, but one day we were going to stop by a former investigator and lo and behold she was there!? What? Also we were able to share a lesson with both her and the Former, and so we got to see her and get a new investigator out of it!! What?
Also this past week, we got to meet with a referral we got a couple of weeks ago. He was really prepared. He says that he feels that God has led him to us to be able to learn how to come closer to Him. :) And we just smiled and nodded :)
And other than that, life has been pretty much the same old, same old!! But things are going great down here.
On another thought, time has just blown by! Whew! To think that it's been 15 months boggles my mind! But I guess I shouldn't get too trunky though ;)
Anywho, that's all for now! :) Take care!

10.4--Meetings, meetings, and "Meet the Mormons"

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Things have been going quite well down here in Texas! :) Much as the title states, we have had a lot of meetings/conferences/trainings, but it's all good!

Since our trip last Monday to the temple, we have had a Zone Training, General Conference, and Zone Conference! And those aren't necessarily a bad thing; rather, I felt like they were all edifying and gave me a wonderful spiritual recharge. I especially enjoyed the Saturday morning of General Conference. There were many powerful and inspirational messages given! :)  One of my favorite talks came from Elder Jeffery R Holland from that session. He talked about how we should all be a little kinder to one another and to make an effort to lift those who's may poor or poor-in-spirit! :)

Also at Zone training I had a thought. We are asked to follow a lot of rules as missionaries, and sometimes you don't know why the rule was given, and they seem lame. One thing that has stuck out to me is that God expects us all to act upon principles of faith. To not only obey when we see the reason, but to be obedient when we don't see the reason. To be obedient simply because we love God and we are willing to do whatever he asks us to do! :)

And also at Zone Conference we were able to watch "Meet the Mormons". We, in effect, got a pre-showing of the movie. And that will be the 1 and only time we get to watch it on our mission. My not-so-professional opinion of it? I LOVED it! :) It is more like a documentary, kinda like Planet Earth! Which is a weird change for  movies being shown in the movie theaters! I would definitely encourage people to go to see it! :)

Anywho, that's all for now! Thanks for reading!

11.3--Temple Trip Y New Investigator

Dearest Blog Readers,

So another week has come and gone in the wonderful city that is El Paso.

Anywho, so yesterday we were able to go up to Albuquerque, and we had a wonderful temple day! :) We spend a grand total of 8 1/2 hours in the car driving there and back, but it was well worth it! :)

At the temple, I was able to see my branch president from Cloudcroft, Brother Bell, and his wife! :) Also I was able to see a member from my first area, who's now a temple sealer :) It was so good being able to go to the temple and see those people that I love there. It makes me think of the joy that I felt in seeing them will be just a portion of the joy that I will feel in the life after this when I get to be with the ones that I love forever! :)

Anywho, also this week we were able be blessed with a wonderful new investigator, and she is awesome! She is dating a returned missionary from Pocatello, Idaho, and  she came to the institute and asked to meet with the missionaries! :) And we were able to  share with her the message of the restoration, and she has a baptismal date scheduled for Oct 25th. Also when her BF talked with her about the Word of Wisdom, she committed to live it that very night! :) So moral of the story, Elder Allen and I are both super stoked!

Love,
