Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Things have been going quite well down here in
Texas! :) Much as the title states, we have had a lot of
meetings/conferences/trainings, but it's all good!
Since our trip last Monday to the temple, we
have had a Zone Training, General Conference, and Zone Conference! And
those aren't necessarily a bad thing; rather, I felt like they were all
edifying and gave me a wonderful spiritual recharge. I especially enjoyed
the Saturday morning of General Conference. There were
many powerful and inspirational messages given! :) One of my
favorite talks came from Elder Jeffery R Holland from that session. He talked
about how we should all be a little kinder to one another and to make an effort
to lift those who's may poor or poor-in-spirit! :)
Also at Zone training I had a thought. We are
asked to follow a lot of rules as missionaries, and sometimes you don't know why
the rule was given, and they seem lame. One thing that has stuck out
to me is that God expects us all to act upon principles of faith. To not
only obey when we see the reason, but to be obedient when we don't see the
reason. To be obedient simply because we love God and we are willing to do
whatever he asks us to do! :)
And also at Zone Conference we were able to
watch "Meet the Mormons". We, in effect, got a pre-showing of the movie.
And that will be the 1 and only time we get to watch it on our mission. My not-so-professional opinion of it? I LOVED it! :) It is more like a documentary,
kinda like Planet Earth! Which is a weird change for movies being shown
in the movie theaters! I would definitely encourage people to go to see it! :)
Anywho, that's all for now! Thanks for
reading!
Elder Guymon
